Good fats Vs. bad fats: understanding the difference is a fundamental key to achieving good health
Understand the difference between good fats vs. bad fats is one of the most important health principles it will always need to know.
Unfortunately, there was a lot of misconception perpetuated on this topic.
In the first place, not too long ago was that it was played by the media that all fats are bad fats! The spread of this misinformation was a grave parody of Justice which led many people fell for it a street of ill health.
Today we know that there are huge differences between fats. We know, for example, that some of them, such as omega 3 fatty acids (known as EPA and DHA, ALA for short) are absolutely crucial when it comes to many aspects of our health.
These fats are essential for the health of our brain and cardiovascular systems. Also help to keep our skin, hair and nails healthy. Many of the serious health conditions than in the Western world are associated with a deficiency of omega 3.
And remember when some "fitness guru" had advice to avoid eating all kinds of fats, because "fat is what makes you fat?" In fact, as omega 3 fats actually help the body stay leaner!
Now, what are the bad fats? Well, for starters, there is the so-called trans-fats. These are terrible. They are not natural. They are often used in products because they are cheap and can be used to extend the duration of such products.
Always look on the product label to see if there are any trans fat-in whatever it is, that you eat. If there are, put it back.
Another subject discussed good fats vs. bad fats is saturated fat. Most of the media, even today, try to portray the saturated fat as bad. It is not true. What is true is that too much saturated fat may be undesirable.
But saturated fats themselves are very natural, in fact, play a vital role in the health of our body. So, don't worry about putting on some butter or eat some cheese. Often these can help improve your health.
The best example of good fats, however, come from sources of fat or fish oil supplements that have been purified. For less than a dollar a day that you can get a dose of high quality of the best possible fat, which is exactly why I do it.
